The Revamp




It’s a beautiful thing when career and passion come together, said someone. Being in the communications profession is now more than a career to me, it has become a passion. Little wonder the first years of my professional life was really about managing communications and general stakeholder management –things the extroverted part of me would like to do.  
  
The last few years have been both interesting and a learning experience. It brings together and summarises my experience as a communications professional. Unlike the first post of this blog that states that this will be a marketing blog – which was what I was doing on the career path at the time, I will be sharing my stories and experiences as a Communications GP – internal and external communications, marketing communications and branding, public relations and stakeholder engagement, media in all its forms and more recently, sustainable development. 
The reason for the title of this post is not far-fetched – The Revamp                                

In all of the few years that this blog experienced a break, one thing readily comes to mind. The need to be back here to do one of the things I love doing, writing and sharing my experiences. In all, I learnt a few lessons which I know will be valuable:

Purpose is a vital foundation- why do you do what you do
Find your passion, then fuel it
Make bold steps and go for what you want.
Be patient even as you trust in your journey
Keep building: self-development is important


Revamp
Revamp by simple definition means to simply improve, make better, give new form, structure and appearance to a mission.  This is exactly what the new improved Tilloppss Says So! is about.

What to Expect:                                                                                                         

i. Sharing my experiences in the professional space and bringing in lessons from other areas of life, including things I see or realise in the course of minding my business.
ii. More posts in unusual ways – no more weekly or monthly posts. This means more frequent, more regular posts – including posts from other professionals in our industry
iii. More story telling – about other brands, including my brand. Yes, Tilloppss Says So
iv. Syncing my most active social media accounts with this blog. That’s why social media is called new media. More like, one mission, several platforms.
v. Freebies for young professionals in the communications industry - including career coaching
